The presented hybrid concept for teaching “life-saving immediate measures” is characterized by the integration of modern didactic approaches, including the use of digital learning resources (e.g., instructional videos). Its connection to students’ everyday lives promotes a high level of student engagement. The modular structure allows for adaptation to current guidelines, interdisciplinary implementation, application in various teaching environments, and flexible time management.
The concept is divided into three phases: an introductory phase, a development phase, and a consolidation phase. The development phase is based on a station-based learning format that conveys both theoretical and practical content.
Initial empirical data indicate that the hybrid concept has a positive impact on students' motivation and willingness to learn.
Further empirical studies are needed to determine the extent to which the concept can enable students to respond quickly and appropriately in emergency situations.
